We thought we’d share a recently designed PDF of some of our favourite Album covers from Jonathan’s archive. We hope you like them.
Jonathan has just shot the latest album cover for Cicada. Sunburst is such a stunning album, with its blend of indie/dance/pop. Jonathan and designer David Bowden really embraced the sound, creating a ‘studio landscape’ image to visually represent the music.

Our good friends The London Quartet (formerly known as Cantabile) have produced an album based around the Songs of Cricket, which also happens to be the CD’s title. It’s an eclectic tribute to the very British obsession that is cricket, bringing together works from the turn of the century (school songs from Harrow and Eton) to the present day (‘Jiggery Pokery’ from the Ivor Novello nominated album The Duckworth-Lewis Method). Jonathan feels partially responsible for the project as it emerged as an idea in a late night cab ride with Mike, after a concert in the Long Room at Lord’s. We had great fun attending the recordings at Air Studios in Hampstead, and shooting the group on location at Lord’s; as well as producing the images for the cover and the disk itself. There is a great list of guest talent on the album, including Rory Bremner, Richard Stilgoe and Tim Rice.
Enter a boogie wonderland, relive the good times and play that funky music!
With such an amazing track list, the latest Ministry of Sound Album cover deserved some serious sparkle. Jonathan shot this bespoke MOS logo, built by Asylum, based on a classic disco glitter ball. So if you’re wondering what to get your wife / girlfriend for a Christmas stocking filler, this is it!
Design and art direction was by Simon Moore at Baby

A tip of the cap to the ASBO generation. the LSB is about kids who used to hang out near group member Lewis Gayle’s childhood home. They drew “The LSB” on the wall with graffiti pens and would talk about how they were ‘well hard and carried knives etc.’ The broken glass structure is symbolic of that time.
Recently, Jonathan has shot the sleeve image for the Ministry of Sound Anthems 1991-2008 Album. Looking back on the history of the UK’s love affair with dance music, Anthems 1991 – 2008 spans almost two decades of momentous musical moments, going back to the birth of Ministry of Sound in 1991 as the UK’s first super club.
This is already one of the best selling Ministry albums ever and has gone double-platinum. We now have our commemorative disc on the wall!
